Around a year ago, I released the first book in my post-apocalyptic pirate trilogy, The Marian. It was a story that had been rolling around in my head for a while before I even sat down to give it any shape. The story and the world have morphed and grown as I’ve spent more time with them, and the whole thing has turned into something I’m incredibly proud of.
If you’re not familiar with The Marian Trilogy yet, it’s – in a nutshell – a post-apocalyptic pirate adventure with elements of steampunk and horror. If that sounds like something you would like, you can find links to get a hold of the first book in the trilogy here. It should be 99 cents on all ebook retailers right now, but some of them can be slow to update (last I checked the Nook store is still on the full price).
But I’m not here to talk to you about The Marian. I’m here to introduce you to the second installment of this trilogy, which is set to release on August 17.
Once again, I worked with the fantastically talented Denise Wy of Cover Atelier to put this cover together. Once again, she blew me away. If you’re in need of a book cover, definitely look her up, because she is a super hero.
And so, without further ado, I give you The Hunted:
In the distant future, water is more valuable than gold, and the very fabric of reality has been damaged.
This bleak world is foreign to fifteen-year-old Ethan Denby. He isn’t from this time, and even his body belongs to someone else.
In a desperate attempt to return home, Ethan has killed a high-ranking government official. With blood on his hands and a bounty on his head, Ethan finds himself the target of an army of mercenaries, all bearing the same strange mark. As he flees, Ethan turns to the only source of hope he has left, but will the dark power it contains consume him and his companions before they can find the answers they need?
The Hunted is available for preorder now, which means you can place your order so you don’t forget about it, and then on release day it’ll be automatically delivered to your ereader, provided you’re connected to WiFi. Here are a few of the places you can find it:
Unfortunately, if you prefer physical books, I still don’t have the capability to offer those for preorder, so you’ll just have to wait until release day to give me your money.
If you’re an ebook person like I am, you’ll be able to get both books in the trilogy for 99 cents apiece until the end of August (and possibly a few days beyond, depending on how long it takes the other retailers to update prices). Stay tuned here for a few other posts about the book, and keep your eyes out for some early reviews. I can’t wait to share this story with you.
